“The most recent CPT report from 2024 received several credible and consistent allegations of deliberate physical ill-treatment of detained foreign nationals by police officers in some police stations in Athens (Kolonos and Omonia Police Departments). This included several cases of alleged severe ill-treatment, which mainly consisted of blows with batons and the butt of a rifle, kicks, punches and/or slaps.”
